“Understanding and Helping the Sleep of your Child and Teenager.”

Without regular adequate sleep, children’s learning and engagement suffer and their emotional stability is easily compromised. In this presentation the focus will be on understanding normal sleep, the consequences of inadequate sleep, factors that might lead to poor sleep in children and adolescents and, importantly, what can be done to help. Simple behavioural and cognitive strategies that work will be discussed and there will be adequate time for Q & A.

Emeritus Professor Dorothy Bruck:

Emeritus Professor Bruck is a sleep psychologist with an extensive international research record on sleep issues. She is also Chair of the Sleep Health Foundation. As a parent and practising clinician she understands the common issues that arise concerning sleep/wake issues in children and teenagers and will discuss strategies to consider.
